The FPAC Awards of Excellence program is an opportunity to honour the remarkable people who help make the Canadian forest products sector a world leader in sustainable forest management and are advancing the environmental, social, and economic benefits of Canadian forestry.
The Canadian forest products sector is grateful to work with community leaders from across the country who are proud to stand tall in support of Canadian forestry in their towns and cities. Although they may not be directly employed by the sector, these men and women share a passion and a positive vision for Canadian forestry and our mill communities. The FPAC Community Champion Award is presented to an individual who values our sector’s contributions to the environment and the economy and is a proponent for Canada’s forest products sector and its workers.
Eligibility: Nominees for the Community Champion Award must be someone who has publicly demonstrated support for the sector and the benefits it brings to his or her community. Nominators will be asked to describe the candidate’s specific efforts or initiatives to promote, advocate or advance Canadian forestry in their community and/or within Canada.
The Canadian forest products sector works closely with many partners across Canada to ensure that Canada’s forests remain forests forever. Although not directly employed by the sector, these groups share a passion for our sector, its people, and Canada’s forestry communities. The FPAC Partnership Award is presented to an individual, community group, or non-governmental organization committed to working with forest products companies to achieve positive outcomes for Canada’s forest sector and its workers.
Eligibility: To be nominated for the FPAC Partnership Award, qualifying individuals and/or organizations must have: Demonstrated leadership through a specific collaboration with the Canadian forest products sector; Supported a project or initiative that advanced environmental, economic, or social opportunities in the forest products sector.
As the industry looks to our young people to sustain and grow the sector, Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) is proud to celebrate our industry’s future leaders. The Rising Star Award recognizes young men and women in our industry who bring passion and pride to their work everyday and are making a unique contribution to their workplace.
Eligibility: To be nominated for the FPAC Rising Star Award, all individuals must be: Employed at an FPAC member company; Less than 5 years experience; 30 years of age or younger.
The forest products industry in Canada is committed to workplace diversity and inclusion. The Women in Forestry Award of Excellence is intended to recognize the contributions and leadership of women in our sector. Our recipients have demonstrated leadership, innovation, and a commitment to our industry.
Eligibility: To be nominated for the FPAC Women in Forestry Award of Excellence, all individuals must be: Currently employed with (or recently retired from) an FPAC member company; Experienced in leading projects, activities, facilities that contributed to the company/sector; Viewed as mentor/leader for women in and/ or beyond the industry (i.e. community); An advocate for women in the forest products industry.
