For this blog post I am going to be talking about my daily routine working as a Quality Control Student at the Tolko Athabasca Division.

I’m both a southerner and an urbanite; so naturally, you might be wondering how in the world I ended up choosing a career in forestry, and that’s what I’ll be writing about today.

The answer is actually pretty simple; these trees are getting planted!

I’ve decided to start with an introduction to who I am and how I got here for my first post.

Leaving the parental cocoon, I headed for the big city, Quebec. I had always loved nature, the wide open spaces, the fresh country air and the forest, but I had a weakness for city life.

Canada’s forest sector is resilient, but the COVID-19 crisis has made an already difficult time even more challenging for many forestry families, businesses, and communities.
