FPAC sponsored the Maclean’s 2019 Welcome to the Hill event, where trailblazing former MP and cabinet minister Ethel Blondin-Andrew received the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award. The Welcome to the Hill event, at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, featured remarks by the Right Honourable Paul Martin, who introduced Blondin-Andrew, and the Speaker of the House Geoff Regan.

Charlene is an accomplished professional forester, mother, partner and advocate for sustainability and self-empowerment. Growing up in small town British Columbia in a logging family, it was the raw wonderment of seeing and experiencing the unique rarity the forests of BC provide that drew Charlene into forestry. As one of two women in her year to graduate from the UBC Forest Operations Program, she is not afraid to take risks and challenge stereotypes.
