As the Government Affairs and Advocacy Coordinator, Austin helps to ensure FPAC's work translates into effective advocacy at the federal level. By assisting with the Government Relations and Policy teams, Austin helps advance legislative priorities, advocate to decision-makers, and promote the Canadian forest product sector’s contributions to Canada’s economy and environment.
Before joining FPAC in 2025, Austin gained valuable experience on Parliament Hill as a Legislative Assistant. In this role, he supported key legislative initiatives, engaged with stakeholders on policy issues, and worked to navigate the processes of federal decision-making. His time on the Hill provided firsthand insight into the legislative process and strengthened his ability to deliver impactful advocacy.
Originally from Calgary, Austin has been a lifelong enthusiast of politics and international relations. Outside of work, he enjoys his time outside walking or biking and getting together with friends for watching weekend football.
