Before coming to Adams Lake for my work term, I had never explored the Shuswap or the Kamloops area. The communities that surround the area have endless recreational opportunities. I began my summer exploring the Kamloops area. Kamloops has multiple incredible trail systems. One of my favorites is the Pineview trails. The Pineview trails are endless and provide biking trails for beginners and advanced riders. A stone’s throw from Kamloops is Sun Peaks. Sun Peaks is an all-seasons resort. In the summer it has lift access biking and hiking.
The Shuswap has lots of incredible areas to explore and towns to check out. The Shuswap trails website is a great resource to discover the hiking and biking trails in the area. The Balmoral trail system is in Blind Bay. There are lots of trails to explore in the system. The trails provide a stunning view of Shuswap Lake. Mount Baldy in Sorrento is a moderate hiking trail that ends at a viewpoint of the Shuswap Lake.
