Summer 2024 will be one to remember for five students selected as winners of Forest Products Association of Canada’s (FPAC) Green Dream Internship Program. Launched in 2013, the national initiative highlights the perspectives and experiences of students working in the forest sector over a six-week period, accompanied by a $1,000 scholarship to support their education.
Throughout the program, Green Dream Interns will use social media to share their personal insights into forestry careers and the forest sector. From highlighting favourite aspects of working in the field to conducting interviews with colleagues, the interns will create engaging content that provides a unique look at their summer experiences. Additionally, the team will produce dynamic 'day in the life' and behind-the-scenes videos, offering viewers a firsthand glimpse into the daily operations of sustainable forest management.
“Working in Canada's forest sector is a job unlike any other, and the Green Dream Internship Program offers a direct insight into our sector's commitment to sustainable forest management, innovation, and how forestry supports urban and rural communities alike,” said FPAC President and CEO Derek Nighbor. “We are excited to follow the 2024 Green Dream Interns as they share their experiences through digital content and showcasing the range of opportunities, careers, and communities that thrive within the forest sector.”
