This is what the day in the life of a Canfor Pulp co-op looks like:
6:15 AM: I wake up ready to take on the world of engineering.
7:15 AM: With a cup of coffee in hand, I head to work, excited for the day. As soon as I arrive, I conduct daily lab testing for process monitoring that supports operational decisions and optimization.
9:00 AM: We kick start the morning with an engineering team meeting to review current operational priorities or business impacts, safety communications, and check in on what everyone in my department is working on for the day.
10:00 AM: After the meeting, I finish the lab testing and when I complete the tasks, I start to work on my co-op project. Once a week I also have a morning meeting with the Fiberline team to review any operational challenges we may have faced over the past week and come up with solutions to address those issues.
12:00 PM: Time for a much-deserved lunch break. I eat with some other colleagues in one of the conference rooms.
1:00 PM: After lunch, I dive back into my co-op project and assist with tasks that the engineers need help with whether that be priority lab testing or trending analysis.
3:00 PM: The engineering team meets to discuss long-term plans and projects that need to be worked on for Canfor Pulp.
5:00 PM: The workday is done. Time to head home, I enjoy running after work. The best trails to run on in Prince George are the Forest for the World Trails.
