Hello dear readers,
If you read my very first blog, you know that I live in Normandin. What is Normandin and where is it? Normandin is a small town in the north of the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean region with a population of 3029. Its territory is mainly occupied by producers who are mainly involved in dairy production. Its geographical situation makes it a privileged place for tourists who appreciate the large plains and bucolic landscapes. The forest is also part of the natural resources that provide the local economy with benefits. We cannot ignore our provincial nursery which, for over 80 years, has been producing forestry plants for our region and the province. Its 250 seasonal jobs contribute annually to the good economic health of our community and the surrounding area. Normandin is also home to specialized businesses directly related to the forestry industry (roasting, bedding, cottages, silvicultural work, equipment manufacturers, tyres, transportation, mobile sawmill, etc.). In addition, we also have processing facilities for various products, such as a blueberry factory, a cheese factory and a soap factory.
No, there's more to Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean than poutine, tourtières and our Quebecois lingo. We have a generous nature, a fjord, whales, an inland sea and especially tasty blueberries! Our territory is steeped in history, offers a variety of cultural activities and adventures in the heart of multiple grandiose landscapes that we never tire of contemplating. I have put together a short video to show you some of these attractions. Remember that this is only a small part of what you can really find there, there was not enough time to show you everything. https://youtu.be/j0AmzoX3jVI
